Well, what do we need to play 3D games on ATI in Linux?
I've downloaded Postal2 but it just freezes on start. Any ideas?
What the miracle options in xorg.conf?
HD 2400 pro AGP, 8.7 driver, Slackware 12.1

I don't know, I've been having freeze-on-start problems in my Ubuntu 8.04 64-bit install, even though everything seemed to install fine. I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.04 32 and the driver worked OK within its known limits. I haven't had time yet to do more testing between the two installs to see what the problem bit is. I've been posting in the "Catalyst 8.7 is released" thread.

I believe you need to refer to this post if that's the case.
Technical support and discussion of the open-source AMD Radeon graphics drivers.

I personally like the docs found at gentoo.org and on gentoo-wiki.com

        Your system may vary.

Go back to catalyst 8.5 if you can. 8.6 and 8.7 have problems, at least for me. I'm also using slackware 12.1 I'm occasionally having lockups with 8.5 but it works for a while at least on mythtv, xine, wine, eduke32, sdlquake2, and even rtcw. I have the HD3200 IGP which I've read might be based on the 2400.
