Problem installing latest mesa 7.1 on debian

Hey everybody!

I'm trying to make use of the new 3d support in the open source ati drivers for my rv535 card, this requires me to install beta version of the mesa libraries. However, no matter which way I try to install these libraries the do not work. Crying or Very sad

I tried compiling and installing the versions from git and from their home page. Everything seems to compile and install fine, but when I run "glxinfo" it still says I am using the old version of mesa.

I even tried to install mesa from debian experimental, still, glxinfo says I am using the old version of mesa. But the experimental packages are installed.

And there is proof that 7.0 is being used.

Any idea why something would be installed but not used?
It must be something stupid. Embarassed

Try "locate libGL.so" to see what you have around on your hard drive. Then run for instance "dpkg -S /usr/lib/libGL.so.1" to see to which package they belong.

You can also run 'ldd /usr/bin/glxinfo' to see which libGL.so.1 file glxinfo is linking against.
