It also hasn't. You get to decide DE on install and also afterwards. Fedora packages pretty much all of the bigger DE's and they're easily installable

But it promotes one DE with one of their products

This may be the second-most silliest discussion I've ever seen on Phoronix.

It's still a bit painful when you have 200 servers that need an update...

Red Hat should ask the NSA to share their code - seems they have this "BIOS update in Linux" thing all figured out, they can even update our hard drive firmware while they're at it.

you do not understand that coreboot is not an uefi implementation

The Red Hat / Fedora developers working on this UEFI support are also working with motherboard vendors to ensure they publish their BIOS updates in a compatible way that they can automatically check for and collect.
              Sounds good.
If the support would also support dualbios features on motherboards. (Those features are like super useful if they work well.)
Supporting sual BIOS/UEFI features is a must.
Including allowing updating one BIOS/UEFI with the other one from the BIOS/UEFI and from within the operating system. Including being able to get information about the BIOS/UEFI firmware/driver version present on both dual bios/uefi chips. (In UEFI and from operating system.)
And being able to have a way to copy the BIOS/UEFI firmware/driver from one UEFI chip to the other. Again option available from both the UEFI menu and from the operating system.

And how to deal with UEFI firmware/driver copying/loading from (SD among other) memory cards and (USB among other interface standards) sticks if such a feature is supported by the motherboard manufacturer.
