Of course the greatest progress came with freebsd-update that leaves systems in an unusable state. They really went out of their way to make Debian look attractive with this point release.

Ugh, no it doesn't. It pulled in all the lib32 libraries if you had a base freebsd-update.conf, but that was easily avoided by editing your freebsd-update.conf line from:
Components src world kernel
to
Components world/base world/doc world/games kernel

They're also trivial to just delete again. The lib32 libs that is.

It "showed" that it would try and delete /, but didn't actually do it. It's less of a screw-up then Debian's messed up SSH key debacle they had a few years back.

All my servers were fine, even the ones that I did prior to the freebsd-update.conf fix. You just had to delete the lib32 libs by hand.

People are just saying it does because no one in FreeBSD could ever fuck up that badly. And this stupid shit isn't fixed yet.
