While the likes of SprezzOS as the "most beautiful and performant" Linux and OSu as the ultimate operating system have disappeared at the end of the day and are no longer providing comic relief or interesting ambitious debates to Linux users, that other distribution based on Ubuntu and then turned into a FreeBSD distribution is still standing. They're out with an update today and have introduced their own open-source license...

They just redid their license: https://github.com/prp-e/JPPSL/blob/master/JPPSL

Disclaimer: IANAL, so maybe this post is full of bullshit. :-)

Even though this pretends to be a license, I don't think it actually is one. It says: Something is published under this license (pretty meta), projects using the license can be linked with other licenses (also very meta), and it says that it's incompatible with GPL3+ (so it's missing one of the most important aspects of most open-source licenses).

It does NOT say that we can use JPPSL software (either free of charge or after paying for it), and I'm not even talking about freedoms like allowing modification, redistribution under same/similar license, etc. like you'd expect from open source licenses.

So the license is? not actually a license. It does not give you any rights at all. So if you get your hands on JPPSL software somehow, you still don't have the right to use/modify/redistribute/? it, it's 100% proprietary.

Although criticism isn't always issued in a decent way, that nevertheless doesn't invalid the criticism itself. Could you address the various valid criticism that has been raised in this thread?
                Thanks.

To be fair, you do love to promote drama.... which if you've ever read your own forum..... results in a lot of hate speech.

I've actually considered making a site called "NeckBeards" showing and promoting people to screencap and post the terrible comments made by other linux/bsd/nerds of the web. A good 50% of it could come from this forum alone....

You people are the "mean girls" of the linux community.
