LG tried it with the G3 and it seems that we don't need or even want that resolution. You gain nothing and lose a lot.

I once walked into a store where they had a wall mounted display of around 30 different phones in a grid. One clearly stood out as easily having the best display. I checked, and it was a G3. First and only time I ever saw one, but it was an awesome screen. I suspect the masses didn't embrace it for other reasons.

No wireless charging. That's actually kind of convenient with the nexus 5.
