Now, program is available in two versions: CLI (command line interfance) and GUI. Version 0.0.8.5 brings many serious fixes and new GUI based on FLTK toolkit.

Thank you, haagch. Maybe clover is not optimized for that type of execution of the kernels. On the AMD Catalyst drivers, program behaves much better and requires only -S32 (or less) for good performance. Program uses the OpenCL events to synchronize execution and uses two command queues to maximize execution time.
May be this is problem with clover.

why opencl ?
wouldn't it be easier with opengl and some heavy shaders off-screen
don't get me wrong it's good to have an opencl benchmark

New version 0.0.9 (should be much stable).

Thank you for any tests. I published version 0.0.9 which will be much stable than previous.
I recommend to abandon versions older than 0.0.8.8 (because they has terrible bug).
New version brings fixes for device name labels (should be properly displayed) and fix hang ups when GUI app
receives too many log messages.

Program still is in alpha version stage, so some stupid bugs can be encountered.
