    Default Linux ASPM, Haswell, Intel Chipset series 8 and ACPI FADT boot flags disable

    Remarkable is that Desktop motherboard makers like Asus, ASRock, Gigabyte and MSI, since Intel chipset series 8 all have their BIOS-es set to disable ASPM. The ACPI FADT "ASPM Not supported" boot flag is set for 9 out of 9 tested Intel 8 series chipset mainboards:
    1. ASRock, H81 Pro BTC P1.80, H81: PCIe ASPM Not supported (V4): 0x1
    2. ASRock, H81M-VG4, H81: PCIe ASPM Not supported (V4): 0x1
    3. ASUSTeK, H81M-A, H81: PCIe ASPM Not supported (V4): 0x1
    4. Gigabyte, H81M-H, H81: PCIe ASPM Not supported (V4): 0x1
    5. MSI, H81M-P33 (MS-7817), H81: PCIe ASPM Not supported (V4): 0x1
    6. ASRock, B85M Pro4 P2.10, B85: PCIe ASPM Not supported (V4): 0x1
    7. ASRock, B85M-ITX P2.20, B85: PCIe ASPM Not supported (V4): 0x1
    8. ASUS, Q87T, Q87: PCIe ASPM Not supported (V4): 0x1
    9. ASRock, Z87E-ITX, Z87: PCIe ASPM Not supported (V4): 0x1


    Other remarkable thing is that when enabling ASPM manually on an ASRock H81 Pro BTC, through hardware corresponding setpci commands, all devices support enabling L0s and L1 and there seem no issues: no kernel oops, no lockups, no crashes, no freezes, etcetera.
