^Michael uses it as on all BSD news (it's even named bsd.jpg).

        Haha. They forgot NetBSD.
Anyway I'll look forward to see the development there. It is good that in these times people take such elemental things seriously again. But then OpenBSD people are supposed to care about security.

Idiot, NetBSD doesn't need a portable version.

Good that it took very little time to bring back multi platforms!

The stock upstream LibreSSL relies on features and OS behavior that NetBSD does not have or have not implemented; so yes it does need a portable version.

Went ahead and tried building the portable release on NetBSD 6.1. Is almost perfect except needed CFLAGS+="-Wno-error=array-bounds" for a couple of source files.

                Code:
                checking for strlcpy... yes
checking for library containing strlcpy... none required
                checking for strlcat... yes
checking for library containing strlcat... none required
                checking for reallocarray... no
                checking for timingsafe_bcmp... no
                checking for timingsafe_memcmp... no
                checking for arc4random_buf... yes
checking for library containing write... none required
                checking for getentropy... no
                checking for issetugid... yes
checking for library containing write... (cached) none required
                checking for strtonum... no
                checking for getauxval... no
                checking for funopen... yes
The portabie release implements the missing functions as needed. NetBSD might have more of these than anything else does, but still not quite everything.

I would would stay away from LibreSSL. OpenSSL is still much safer (proven, secure and well established).

My company is planning to ban LibreSSL as it will become a costly security liability.
