  • TPM's will end piracy

I must admit that when I first saw the headline, I thought it said "...end privacy" instead of piracy, but I guess it will kill both birds with one key. I for one welcome our computer chip overlords (sorry, too much slashdot ).

ROTFL!, If I had a dime every time I heard about the perfect solution to stop piracy........

Sooooo what are they going to do? I guess AMD is done for because they do not believe in the TPM.

I guess it'll be cracked in under a week. Furthermore I guess it'll cause problems for legal copies, just like StarForce did.

I was under the impression that TPM was already "cracked" for the purposes of this kind of use, in the sense that a driver or library/kernel hook could emulate a TPM with arbitrary identity (~= sharing passwords).
