Ubuntu 8.04 + Catalyst 8.5 = AMD Watermark

I've installed the latest Catalyst today and got the AMD Watermark.

But this version is not a BETA.

Any idea?

Did you download yesterday or today ? We updated the package yesterday to fix the watermark issue.

If you downloaded today, did you navigate through amd.com or did you use a url posted earlier ? If the latter, I'm wondering if the url still pointed to the old un-patched driver.

I've downloaded it on the 21st.
I will try the newer version very soon.
But I think, I will remain at the radeonhd driver, 'cause the catalyst driver always brings my vga cooler to be very fast, loud and it sucks on desktop working :/
With the RadeonHD-Driver, it runs on a stable sound level.
