http://vixtelunity.com lists this having '10.1 inch widescreen tablet with retina display'. So this an apple product ? According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retina_Display the display is from Apple. And no where on that web site does it state the screen resolution. Sounds like a great company with attention to detail.

Retina is a general term for high resolution and HiDPI screens, as most people know the term now and it's easier than saying Retina than 'high resolution and HiDPI screens'.

          Vixtel Unity Clarification

The Vixtel Unity is a tablet with docking station and handset. It is designed to run Android and Linux simultaneously. We did not believe that the Canonical model of dual boot to a monitor and nothing on the tablet was an attractive proposition for corporate users. Unity allows both the LCD and HDMI monitor to toggle between OS's and any combination at anytime. Typically when docked the tablet becomes the desk phone and Monitor a desktop PC. The phone is based on web RTC and has audio, video, chat and data collaboration.

Pre productrion units have been manufactured and full scale production is about to begin.

Nice one. Great to see something like this coming out of Melbourne (just down the road from me). Any timeframe for when these will be available? And do you plan to sell individual units for those who would like to play around with something like this or will you just be doing bulk corporate orders?

Yes they will be available as one off on line or through some retailers. Pre production run complete and mass production about 4 weeks.

Will the chipset being used have open source drivers available?
