I'm not sure where to report bugs, can't find any appropriate links at their site.

Running both x86_fullscreen_1920x1080.sh and x86_windowed_1024x768.sh under Fedora 11/i386 produces this error:

Unfortunately enabling SWCursor broke the cursor in the main Quake Live menu that is showing before joining the match. Anyone has any idea how it could be fixed? Maybe some obscure Quake console...

I'm wondering why this hardware cursor bug just can't be fixed for good. If an fglrx build has it fixed, in the next it will be broken again.

p.s. What's up with this crap? IMHO 1 minute is just...

That's what I ended up doing (enabling SWCursor). It's stable so far. There's some mouse pointer flickering when moving it too fast, but I can live with it.

The problem is that I'm using a Catalyst build from RPMFusion, and it's tied to a particular kernel version. I now have to either downgrade both kernel and Catalyst (which is a hassle since I have to...

    Catalyst 10.1 randomly locks Xorg

My notebook runs Fedora 11, with Mobile Radeon 4650 card. I've used Catalyst 9.11 since it was out, and it was perfectly stable. After updating to Catalyst 10.1, X hung two times already in two days...

It's suspicious that the whole directory was purged. Could it be your testing software bug?
Have you checked the lost+found directory? Have you checked the fsck output in the boot log?

It's a bug in their .spec file.
To quell this error, you can add

    %_unpackaged_files_terminate_build 1
    to ~/.rpmmacros or /etc/rpm/macros

Scrap what I wrote above about setting memory ranges via MTRR. I got my hands on x1950Pro and tried my idea - it doesn't work.

My take on this is that fglrx can't handle the certain type of GART memory (cacheable memory).

I'd suggest making the AGP area uncacheable by running

    echo "base=0xe0000000 size=0x10000000...

I'm not arguing it's fglrx inability to handle the cetrtain hardware, I was just replying to some previous poster's suggestion it's the kernel fault.
  13. Why do you think it's related to the kernel?...

Why do you think it's related to the kernel? Looks more like the unfortunate combination of hardware with inability of fglrx driver to handle it to me.

Have any of you tried disabling ACPI...

Well, it blows a huge hole in my theory that VIA chipsets are safe.
I guess I'll better look for Geforce 7950 GS AGP then, even though it's generally slower than X1950 Pro.
