Is there anything being done about the email address being public, or is this just fundamentally unfixable? I really hate having a secondary address just to avoid spam, and then missing bugzilla...

I wish they'd rewrite the UI to use Qt instead so it wouldn't have to run in an X11 instance on Mac.

Haha, I bet with Svartalf posting Phoronix will immediately pump out a follow up article about it.

That's not how it works (or is supposed to work). In weston for example, if a compositor specific key combination is detected, the keystrokes it is made up of are never broadcasted to clients in the...

You are actually required to. Even though "wayland protocol" sounds like something anyone could easily implement by only looking at the documentation, the through is that the wire format is based on...

Wish I had a degree and a reputation in FOSS.. this sounds like a really cool job.

Well, as long as they're part of the GL 4 spec that is..

Well technically since he's going to continue working on Noveau in his free time, and he just gained more free time than before, it...

Somehow I always associate "core profile" with modern OpenGL. So I'd suggest something containing "core", even though it sounds a bit overused. Maybe "CoreGL"? I'm not sure.

Why would you do such a big architectural change when it would only benefit a single driver (radeon) ? Would it even benefit it? Maybe it would minimally reduce shader compilation times by a bit.

I am just guessing here, but TGSI looks like the "state tracker agnostic" part in the compilation pipeline. For example, I doubt Gallium9 uses the GLSL IR at all, I would guess they just translate...

I think you're misunderstanding something here. NIR lives in Mesa, the open source userspace driver. Shared between mesa and Catalyst will only be the kernel driver, which has nothing to do with NIR.

Awesome! Hopefully more distributions will follow suite and offer their wine packages with the Gallium9 glue patches applied, which could put quite a bit of pressure on the wine developers.

So he just caches buffer allocations so frequent glBufferData calls with similar size can immediately be satisfied?

Not sure what you're talking about, I was talking about the Phoronix article, I didn't refer to the comments in any way.

Wow, this is one of those famous "Phoronix grasping at straws" moments again. You guys should really read the steamdb entry for this. To me personally, it just looks like the devs bundled an OpenVR...

Well, those references just said that kdbus will likely never be able to serve as a binder implementation base.
