So this is what they've ruined desktop Ubuntu experience for? Talk about idée fixe...

It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

TB is great - the only e-mail client worth using (not counting the CLI clients of course). It's nice to see that Mozilla is still working on it.

I'm not a fan of systemd in general for various reasons I don't want to repeat from my previous posts. But from a purely practical point of view the abomination could be barely tolerable if not for...

Boot Guard has only one application - it's a tool that facilitates the implementation of vendor-locked x86 firmware. Intel knew full well what they were doing and the blame lies squarely on them.

Indeed. Why the hell can't I choose how much is my system exposed to security risks?

Boot Guard is a kick in the balls I didn't expect from Intel. Not even allowing us to opt out is really, really...

It's very disappointing to see Coreboot focused on Chromebooks and Lenovo. Especially on Lenovo. Some people think ThinkPads still have some of IBM legacy goodness in them but they don't. It's...

This is precisely the point of view that got us into the whole Unity/Gnome3/Metro mess. When it comes to modern DEs, stagnation is about the best thing that can happen to them. Xfce guys are smart...

As for Lenovo, their quality is simply abysmal lately. We've just received a whole batch of defective T440 laptops. One was DOA and several others broke shortly after we put them in production....

It's like going to an expensive restaurant and ordering bread and water. I simply can't enjoy my pirated Windows until I install at least $20k worth of pirated proprietary crap on it.

What if you don't have half an hour to waste on such trivialities?

Oh, if you think that development for Windows and Mac is heaven on Earth, by all means continue living in your dream world and leave Linux alone. :)
