Thanks Marek, I will try the new patches as soon as they hit next Mesa release.
Let's hope we get back some stability with 3.19 and next mesa release, 3.18 made the hangs even worse.
  2. KDE5 rocks

I really like the new KDE5. Is pretty stable and shiny here.
Only with running more than one monitor I had some problems.
  3. RadeonSI/Mesa really needs to improve

Hopefully in 2015, the open source radeon driver with mesa sees some improvements.
I mean, I really like every new patch coming for radeonsi but atm. I run Catalyst for my Radeon 270x. Unfortunately...
  4. Like the direction

I really like the new theme. Much better than the last one. Well done !

Is there a particular reason why these patches are disabled by default ?

I don't know what's your problem. Just don't read it if you think it's not worth and don't insult people who put effort into this. I liked the read, so thank you Michael.

That's one of the major problems with Ubuntu. I discussed this flaw in the past with the Mesa maintainers of Ubuntu, they seemed ok with the present situation. On Non-LTS versions you don't get...

I can confirm radeonsi (with Radeon R9 270x) is pretty much broken atm.
Also it's pretty easy to trigger hangs / crasher but I don't mind to create bug reports. I'm just a user.

    Just run...

Well it's always the same on Phoronix. Half of the readers don't understand the basics but have an opinion.
I think you should see the positive of this. Even if it would be NIH, it does not have an...

What do you expect? It's Ubuntu, which is snapshot of Debian, which is snapshot of upstream. Instead of complaining you should get used to it or run a real distribution...

Well that's the problem. As soon as 14.10 is available and the graphics stack is outdated. So backporting only brings outdated versions to the user.
Especially Steam users want the latest stable...

I can understand Canonical's decision. They want to offer stability, even in non-LTS releases. I think the decision is wrong.
If you want real stability, users should go for Ubuntu 14.04.x.
    In the...

That's what I meant with extra long mouse ways. Useless, especially when using multi monitor setup.

It looks really cluttered to me. There is a global menu at the top panel. Then we have a menu at the left top of the window bar, then we have a menu at the right window bar.

    Great Job

Thank for the hard work Mesa Devs.
It's definately worth upgrading. Especially that the Dota 2 lockup issues on Sandybridge are fixed.
    Great job :)

Yep, haven't read that much personal insults since a while in Phoronix threads. Even if you don't like X or Y, you can do better than insulting. Let's discuss on a proper level.

I think that cause of the conflict in reality is rooted in the pre-mir relation of KDE and Canonical.
