    The Direct3D drivers are VERY good - I'm tempted to say GREAT!

    It's the OpenGL driver that's a total wreck.
    (At least WIN+Linux - don't know about MacOS.)

    Not sure if Vulkan requires any version of OpenCL at all. (?)

    Don't think so. IIRC Vulkan and OpenCL 2.1 depend on SPIR-V but
    Vulkan has it's own API for compute stuff.
