I have a motherboard with the SB600 (Biostar TA770 A2+), and similar problems with 64 bit Linux, & fglrx (on an AMD x1550). Works fine with radeonhd driver. Works fine with either driver using 32...
I did some looking and found that there's a bug regarding some 32-bit kernels (I think it started around 2.6.18) on Athlon X2 CPU's (not activating the second core). I'm compiling linux-18.104.22.168...
I've figured it out. An "apt-get update", as opposed to "aptitude update" has revealed some more information...

That seems to work for bonnie standalone, but not for bonnie in PTS.
I've used "run disk" but it only seems to test the "/" partition. How can I test different drives / partitions / filesystems?
I may have found a solution. I added the following boot options to the end of the "kernel" parameters line in /boot/grub/menu.lst:
I've only done this late last night, but so...
Way ahead of you... I've been using another old 2D card with different drivers whenever I really need stability (most of the time). I was just hoping that I might be able to actually use the x1550...
I have the same problem. Have you found any resolution?
