    PNG instead of JPEG

    Please consider using PNG instead of JPEG in image quality comparisons.
  3. PNG instead of JPEG!

    I get upset every time I see this.
    IMO, anyone writing an article about image quality and presents the data (i.e images) using lossy compression (that had nothing to do with the comparison) just...

    This does not contradict what I said.
    Petitions can have an impact, especially if many people sign it.
  5. Free Software Foundation Campaign related to "Secure Boot"

    There is a campaign to make sure the "Secure Boot" feature of UEFI (which is starting to replace the BIOS in newer x86 motherboards) does not prevent running free operating systems.
    There are...
  6. how about simply requiring membership for certain parts of an article ?

    If requiring a membership to for example see the conclusion or whatever parts one want to hide, perhaps more people will subscribe to see the missing parts ?

    bottom right corner bug NOT in dual screen mode

    I have never seen this either. I almost always use two screens, and I have no cursor lag in dual screen mode.
    I have a slight ~100-200 ms lag in clone mode, and ~1000 ms in single screen mode....

    The missing table

    As I have said earlier, a simple table for the OS component information would be much easier to read.
    Let me make it abundantly clear what i mean.

    <table border="1">
    <tr>
    <td></td>...

    use gdc instead

    Strange. If I use "gdc" (gcc front-end) it works fine, e.g:
    $ gdc test.d -o test
    but I can not get "ldc" to work.

    Is currently on ubuntu 10.04. gdc 4.3.4 and ldc 0.9.1.

    writefln

    Use "writefln", not "writeln", and it will work.

    I think you misunderstood. I am not referring to the benchmark data, only the differences of the components within the distributions such as kernel version, Xorg version, etc...

    Why is not a table made out of the OS specs (e.g OSs on the columns and features on the rows) ?

    It would make it a lot easier to read and see the differences.

    disabling one of the available graphics cards

    I would like to know the same thing myself.

    If the IGP is not completely disabled, it would draw power and also produce unnecessary heat. The heatsink gets pretty hot.
    And conversely, if one does...

    glossy border

    I have 2 of the Samsung SyncMaster 226BW which looks very similar to this one, except that it is 22" 1680x1050.

    The glossy border is theoretically annoying, but in practice I do not notice it most...

    How about trying something else as well, e.g http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=NzA0Mg ?
