Have been using both gcc and clang for my projects for well over two years now, find compiler fanboyism rather hilarious.
Does anyone remember Unladen Swallow? Makes me wonder if the Pyston guys have the endurance and resources to get LLVM jitter up to speed.
According to this paper http://www.ecs.umass.edu/mie/tcfd/Papers/InPar12.pdf it seems to scale linearly up to 8 tiles. They also found it to be memory bandwidth limited compared to CPUs and...
Seems to be configurable. Here is an older article talking about it: http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/1006963/tilera-releases-core-chip
So that is what happened to the Tilera, they are replacing the custom vliw cores with A53s.
Afaik, you are correct. There is no way to mod the DP performance. But you can enable certain features: http://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/hacking-nvidia-cards-into-their-professional-counterparts/
So first you complain that there are no modern planes, and now the ones that are there, are not good enough for you? I see where this is going.
You mean like the F-35B-jsbsim, F-35B-yasim?
So nouveau is a lie? Damn, that sucks...
Um, AZDO -> approaching zero driver overhead...
Or do you mean some other kind of AZDO?
Yeah, Intel busy rewriting their compiler, no wonder nothing gets done. :p
A game can be perfectly CPU bound on its own. Not sure where you have this weird idea from that only the graphics driver part matters.
Imho the Wine devs have a point.
Why is nine+gallium so much faster than wine+mesa+gallium? Yes, there will be some overhead translating d3d to gl, but certainly not that much, as the nvidia blob...
Cool story, bro!
AMD and Nvidia blobs share a lot of code between platforms. So it shouldn't be a big deal to "enable" glNext on Linux I think. It will probably be simply an additional user-space lib.
Or it was simply a PR stunt.
Look at Unreal Engine 4. It is quasi (for devs only sadly) open source. Just separate the engine from the actual game, that is all I personally would be asking for. Sell the game content (dlc style),...
Hey, I still have got a Merom (T3200) here with 2GB RAM and 120GB HDD. Working just fine. The only thing that suicks is the missing h264 hw acceleration on Linux.
