AMD CPUs don't report the real temperature, they report Tctl. See https://www.google.com/search?q=%22the+tctl+temperature+scale%22+site%3Aamd.com (they mess up their site all the time so no direct...

3.16 is going to be the Debian Jessie kernel so it'll be important for some time. I dist-upgraded to jessie and everything (btrfs, bcache, radeonsi on 7850, KDE) seems to work very nicely.

Meh. Hey AMD, give me 4 modules (or 4 fat cores with HT) and minimal graphics. I compile and run VMs, I don't run games.

This is really valuable information. Now I'm so happy that I didn't buy an A20 based board.
So which ARM vendor is the most open about their GPU (and has the best FOSS graphics drivers) today?

Bug: pts/byte needs time package on Debian

Tried to run pts/byte on Raspbian and it failed because the test script needs /usr/bin/time which isn't installed.
Installed time package, now it works.

Very nice! Does anybody have a pointer on how to use Keith Packard's glamor server with the ati/radeonsi DDX? I'm still on the glamor-egl lib.

Is there a similarly easy way for Debian? I have built Xorg and Mesa from git but I'd rather not do it again. Right now I only build glamor-egl and xserver-xorg-video-ati when needed for glamor...

I build glamor-egl from debian-x and xserver-xorg-driver-ati from the standard source but with --enable-glamor. Not a big deal, just a bit annoying.
  15. Debian?

I assume this is the direction Julien is headed for Debian Jessie and this is why he didn't go with Glamor support so far?

Trying to read tea leaves here. Hopefully we'll see official Glamor...

Awesome! Time to try a new build. The recent radeonsi code has been very stable for me (except for the crash displaying large JPGs in Firefox) but the performance wasn't quite there yet.

That seems to be a deficiency of the user space tools. I noticed the same (4 monitors on a 7850 with radeonsi) and I need an xorg.conf file or manual xrandr setup.
