Those which work don't have a boost mode for the gpu, so I suppose it is the cause of the issue with 0f. Too bad 0a has bad memory bandwidth, while the gpu boost itself is rather useless.

Same, I got a 7870. Bad idea, it never worked well. So I went back to NVidia since they're a little bit nicer these days, and also got a 770. It is slow on Linux without reclocking, but works rather...

If you want to run demanding games, the proprietary driver is the way to go IMO. However, for smaller games and gnome 3, it is very stable (my 7870 was less stable and had bios issues too ...).

Nouveau support of my new GTX770 is actually better than what I got on my "old" 7870 after waiting for months for things to improve ... Honestly, don't buy a new AMD card, if you have already an...

Ok, so the 770 looks like the best buy right now for a higher end card on Linux.

Unfortunate. But then again if AMD manages to provide decent drivers, there's no reason to exclude them ...

I guess it's a win win for them, since the Steam controller is their only hope to provide something with acceptable gameplay on a console.

The L4D 2 with the icon is the official one, but it just got a "(Beta)" mention added back to it. I tested the other one earlier, but it is a bit too much for my Intel HD4000.

They will be in the R series. But given the price of the i7 version, waiting for a real test is probably a good idea.

So I'd say overall the Intel iris 5000 integrated GPUs look better than this, at least on Linux. With less hassle since you don't have to deal with the semi broken driver.

Thanks for nothing, since I've had to use llvm for months on my HD7870 ... And so within, say, another 6 months, I might have reasonable power usage. Cool ... Next time, I'm still planning on buying...

Cool ... So I own a HD7870, nobody with an ounce of sanity should buy AMD, period.

So it looks like for an open source solution, the Ivy "R" CPUs might be the best choice overall, with the 5200.

Would it be (finally ...) possible to test popular games, now that they are available on Linux ? Starting with TF2. It's not that I don't care about the Q3 performance (ok, I don't ;) ) ...

Looking at their reactions, they're really annoyed by this "toy" driver, and did all they could to shoot it down. We'll see where it goes from there, but certainly Intel looks more interested in...
