    but upgrading cleanly, or via a fresh/clean install to Xorg 1.16 crashes the system...

    No silly gtk depends, and thus, less likely systemd-(blob) depends.
    Qt libs are much nicer now too, ever since gtk3, ..., got lost in systemd land.
