Agree, Qt is far ahead of GTK in many ways. That's one thing Canonical is doing right, they're slowly switching out everything GTK for Qt.

It's default in RHEL 7, and will be in Ubuntu 16.04, and, I think Debian 8.
Regardless of how you feel, systemd has already won.

What benchmarks are you looking at? It doesn't smash the i3. In fact, it loses on EVERY benchmark to the i3. And that's the heatsink/fan cooled K1, not a passively cooled K1.
    It does beat the Atom...

EL7 drops support for some older hardware, and EL6 will be supported for another 6 years.

I remember reading several articles about how a few years ago, engineers from different companies agreed to base their 2010 LTS releases on 2.6.32. Red Hat, Debian, Ubuntu etc.. Great for everyone....

It will arrive in RHEL 7.1, but it won't be in EPEL.
EPEL is only for packages that aren't in EL, not for newer versions of existing packages.

I agree, RHEL7 is looking really good. One of the downsides of the release getting delayed (Red Hat mentioned at their summit that they wanted this out at the end of last year), is that the software...

I made the horrible mistake of trusting a phoronix article a while ago (that praised ATI's improving Linux support), and bought an ATI card. What a huge mistake. Sold it and bought Nvidia as soon as...

I'm really glad they went with Debian.
