Not necessarily true. Especially for system screenshots. Example: http://imgur.com/HAU7i,Yl2M5 (jpg-80: 131 KiB, png: 68 KiB).

    - instaneous recovery (zfs rollback)
    - instaneous database cloning (useful when doing upgrade simulation, additionally, it doesn't use extra space until new data is written)

By at all, I mean no delayed datafile writing, no additional write, and done in an instant.

You went from "not a backup" to "only line of defense".
Any database worth using should have no problem replaying transaction log.

Powering down computer with switch has risk of corrupting partially written data. It doesn't happen in zfs snapshot. How is it exactly same?

zfs snapshot completes in an instant. How it is done guarantees consistency of the database state (ie. no lost/duplicate log because of slight time difference in backup. There is only incomplete...

If you actually know how database works, you should know that it's normal. Unless you're using crappy database, that is (mysql with myisam engine).

At least one person claimed that lvm in snapshot mode killed performance. A benchmark to confirm this would be nice :)

Well, actually I'm waiting for benchmark on mirrored/raid(5|z) disks (also the benchmark with failed disk(s)), not on a simple disk.

    20 drives raid6 sounds like a nightmare.

I'd be interested in seeing comparison between ext4/LVM-RAID5 with ZFS/RAIDZ. ZFS is not meant to be used on single disk as most of its features are only useful in multiple-disks setup.
