Phoronix: AMD Catalyst 11.9 Driver Is Now Available

There's a new AMD Linux driver blob available for those that haven't yet fetched it, but it's not particularly exciting, unless you're using GNOME3...

    Gnome 3

And its (*)crime against humanity to use Gnome3 and/or Unity.

(*) because it locks you out of ability to use arbitrary WMs.

As always - I mean always light years behind the current kernel & X.Org development and brings nothing particularly exciting except introducing yet another pile of regressions in extremely lousy code that was already slow and unstable enough. Great job, blobbers!

        regressions? where?
works fine just like 11.8 for me.
        linux mint 11 64 bit, gnome 2.32.1, kernel 3.0.4, ati 5770

        -tearfree works nicely
-native linux games work good (HoN, Xonotic just to name few)
        -anti aliasing works in wine
-still have GLSL errors when playing games with wine.

        basically nothing changed for me.

Blender has been very broken with fglrx and Unity-2D since version 11.7. Let's see if it's fixed in this release...
