  • wich ati open source driver for an HTPC?

Hi, I'm following both the xf86-video-ati and the radeonhd development.
I have a radeon hd 3450 card for multimedia purposes.
On my linux box I installed xbmc, wich is good for an htpc.
I don't like the catalyst driver because I noticed too many artifacts while playng movies and I'm reading positive feedbacks on the latest xf86-video-ati 6.12 in the latest jaunty alpha release.
Is this driver better than radeonhd + mesa?

Try both and see for yourself. You can use ati-12.1 or get the lastest git for radeonhd.

Make sure you have an updated DRM as well.

If you want HDMI audio, use radeonhd. Other than that the drivers' performance and features are mostly the same.
