  • Bug with X.org and Ubuntu 8.04

Hello, I have a problem. Last week I have install Ubuntu 8.04 and it was working with no problem. I was surprise because a lot of french user had problems with X.org.

Now, I start my computer and Tabarslac! my X.org do not work and I have a window to change the settings of xorg.conf. My? It was workink last week? So, I set fglrx on the driver and I set my screen. After, I restart my computer and it work.

Now, I have this xorg.conf. It look like a dump!

    Before
    Code:
    # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file)
    #
    # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
    # values from the debconf database.
    #
    # Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page.
    # (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
    #
    # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
    # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
    # package.
    #
    # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
    # again, run the following command:
    # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

    Code:
    # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file)

    # You should use dexconf or another such tool for creating a "real" xorg.conf

    I'me not very happy.

Can I change my new dump for my old nice xorg.conf?

Why does x.org do that? X.org is not automatic now?

    Tank you,
    Pier Luc
