I'm using the latest proprietary drivers available, and everything seems to be working fine except for the fact that after the occasional X hard freeze where ctrl+alt+backspace seems unable to kill it, I have to Alt+SysRq+K which does the job, the only problem is while it kills everything as exepected, it doesn't seem able to recover. No new xsession, no new login prompt. I'm thinking this is a driver problem because I used to be able to do it with my nVidia card, and it works fine from the terminal.
Do the proprietary drivers just not support this? If it matters I'm using a 9600XT which is RV350 I believe.
