Does the opening up of the specs mean we can get r500/600 framebuffer support in the linux kernel? I'm sick of ugly block text consoles.

Yes, there will be R500/600 support in the kernel once the new driver is stable and all up to handling the tasks of being in the kernel. I would estimate Q1/Q2'08 at the earliest.Michael Larabel
