    Clang will be much more competitive to GCC on modern multi-core systems in the many scientific applications that take advantage of OpenMP.
    yeah, if you mean that performance in wav 2 mp3, clang is going to rule the universe.
    in other words, no-one is going to bother with that things, slc6.5 and all those who use proper distros, not some ubuntu pozer staff, are going to use openmp and are not going to benefit no matter what that cripple-the-amd-cpus compiler team is going to do.

        Er, what? I couldn't parse any of that.

        I run Ubuntu, and use OpenMP all the time for high performance numerical simulations. Works well, but it'd be nice to try with Clang rather than GCC.
