Phoronix: Mesa Saw The Most Commits Last Year Since 2010

Similar to yesterday's look at the Linux kernel Git code with its nearly 20.8 million lines, I also ran some Git statistics on Mesa to see how its development numbers panned out for the year...

Phoronix, Linux Hardware Reviews, Linux hardware benchmarks, Linux server benchmarks, Linux benchmarking, Desktop Linux, Linux performance, Open Source graphics, Linux How To, Ubuntu benchmarks, Ubuntu hardware, Phoronix Test Suite

Are there some developers who plan to work on GL_ARB_compute_shader for radeonsi in 2016?

While 177 contributors is a lot better than just ~50 if only the AMD / Intel teams were committing, its depressing to think how there are thousands of graphics programmers spread between Nvidia / AMD / Intel / Qualcomm / ARM / Samsung / Broadcom / etc that could all be working together rather than reinventing their own proprietary wheels on every OS.

Remember that the majority of food chain in graphics business is closed source, also the end user apps. Adobe and AAA game developers just love closed source. Only a small minority develops open source games, for instance.
