  • Flash and Compiz problems (Radeon HD 3400 Series)

hi all, i've got the above card on an ubuntu 8.04 install.
most things work well, however there are a few incredibly annoying things.

the first is 100% reproducible with or without compiz.
if i go to a video site and watch a flash movie in full-screen and then press escape (to go back to windowed mode), the full screen image locks and i'm stuck with it on my screen. the desktop remains functional in the background, but it's impossible to get back to without killing X.

the other problem is the external monitor support. i need to be able switch from dual to single screen modes pretty easily (i'm always being asked to do presentations, hooked up to a vga projector). the ati catalyst control applet seems to suggest that this is possible, but the resolution on the external screen never goes above 600x400 (or similarly low-res).

the last problem is a compiz related one. when alt-tabbing between windows, all of their thumbnails are white. not a huge problem, but still annoying.

    many thanks for reading, all!

    thanks.

Me too on a HD3850 - but I can clear it by switching to a different VT <ctrl><alt><F2> than back to X <ctrl><alt><F7>.

When using compiz I use the enhanced zoom plugin so I can scale flash vids with that.

Me too again - It's something that didn't happen on my X1600 with the same drivers/X/Compiz.
