Phoronix: Crytek Showing Off CryEngine On Linux At GDC

Well, I've mentioned for a long time that Crytek was joining the Linux gaming scene... Later this month at GDC they have confirmed they will be showing off CryEngine on Linux...

    CryENGINE is serious AAA business.

    Example 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vF1zjDSqPoo
    Example 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwS8SX4QH7g

It is one of the three top tier engines out there. So the Linux status is:

    [X] CryENGINE
    [ ] Frostbite 3
    [ ] Unreal Engine 4

But I have a feeling they will follow... very soon...

      @d2kx

Unreal Engine 4 seems to support Linux otherwise they could not have demoed it on the Tegra K1.

Do you have a URL for the ad so that it can be removed?

You can't get an url, as it's a popup redirect on mobile send you to the android store.

It happens A LOT with your mobile ads.

Just wanted to say I've been seeing this a lot on my Android phone too. Only in Phoronix.

BTW, it's cool seeing more AAA engines coming to Linux!

Both CryEngine and Unreal Engine share large part of codebase between versions.
It's basically Crytek decide to drop version numbers in engine titles.

It's not likely, but not because of technical reasons. E.g Crysis owned by EA and Crytek can't release any port without them and for other CryEngine games it's will be up to their developers/publishers.

Probably because on the desktop you are logged into the forum, and on mobile you're not?
