Phoronix: Unigine Heaven 4.0 Technology Demo Released

Just as I said would happen a few days ago, Unigine Heaven 4.0 was officially released. This is one very demanding OpenGL tech demo for Linux (and Windows / Mac OS X) systems, but Thursday's release of Unigine Valley will be even more jaw-dropping...

Not sure if this is right place to report problems, but:
Demo run fails in 2-3 seconds right after start with:
    Code:
[xcb] Unknown request in queue while dequeuing
[xcb] Most likely this is a multi-threaded client and XInitThreads has not been called
    [xcb] Aborting, sorry about that.
    heaven_x64: ../../src/xcb_io.c:178: dequeue_pending_request: Assertion `!xcb_xlib_unknown_req_in_deq' failed.
Setup: Ubuntu 12.10 AMD64, fglrx-updates proprietary drivers (not sure which version, probably Catalyst 12.10), AMD Radeon HD 6930.

For what it's worth, I managed to get it running on Ivybridge in a little over an hour. Seems to work reasonably. I'm using Mesa master plus Chris Forbes' ARB_texture_multisample series, and some version overrides and hacks. It may be a while before it's able to run "out of the box," but it looks doable.

I still wait that Doom 3 BFG would work, RBDoom3 does not work on Intel. When will it run?

I had that problem too when running the command manually, but the code-paths taken when running it through the Phoronix Test Suite seem to avoid it... I haven't hit any crashes yet.

So far i can see rather big FPS loss.

In some places FPS dropped bu I don't see visual difference between V 3.0 and V 4.0.

In some places graphics seems to be enhanced a bit, but i am afraid of placebo effect here. I am getting myself a new mobo today and will post some interesting benchmark myself, that a few of you may find interesting for upgrade path of your older hardware.
