I don't think one single dev would make much difference but it can't hurt. I hope he has a positive influence.

    Edit:

I wonder how GOG would react if a dev sneaked Linux binaries in the master given to them for a game? Hid them somewhere or something.
Ahhh, thank you very much! Yes, that link should point to that destination. Seems like Phoronix doesn't have an edit button. Insolence! Regarding what you said, yea, but every little helps, right? Hmmm, why not suggest that to him?

Yes, let's just ignore all the good that Steam, the Humble Bundle, and Kickstarter have done. Let us also ignore the ever so prominent Windows brand, no matter how different and irritating Windows 8 actually is. If you wish to remain ignorant about the world around you, feel free, but facts trump poor arguments any day of the week. From whence you came, you shall remain, until you can think and argue logically again!

You have ZERO evidence for that and evidence against it(like the Humble Bundle data).

I just found out that GamersGate supports Linux as well. Just look at titles such as The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief and Aeon Command. It's nothing major like with Steam, but it is a start. C'mon GOG, get to it already.

11 000 votes have been reached! Now how about another few thousand votes? Or are there so few Linux gamers that we cannot even make it to the top of the list?

The guy running this campaign and that generous contributor he speaks of are pretty damn cool in my opinion! Read to the end and you'll see why.

I would have never known such initiative existed.

Neither does most of the Linux world, it seems. Apparently there are millions of Linux users, but I am finding it horrendously tough to get this request to the top. How does one motivate millions of Linux users to sign up and vote on Linux related requests pertaining to games free of DRM and free of regional pricing? Seriously.

                        • He is talking about this http://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming...ll_of/cbk0mbt:

I've spoken in person at length about this with them. I can say no more!

                          This was his response to:

Would you kindly elaborate upon this? I am trying to bring GOG to support Linux as well so I find this particular excerpt to be very interesting.
                          Not too bad.

                            • What I find even more intriguing is that this developer says that developing for Linux is easier than developing for Mac OS and continues to explain why that is.

Indeed. Although his reasons wouldn't apply to all developers universally.
He finds Linux more similar to Windows, and has no experience with xcode. The OpenGL comment is valid, although only with proprietary drivers. So it doesn't sound like his port is going to work with MESA, which is a little worrying.
