      • Instruction by Kame:
        1. Get latest steam linux client files and put them in a clean folder
        2. Download http://www.jnumbers.com/mirror/steamui.patch and put it in the linux32 directory
        3. run bspatch steamui.so steamui.so steamui.patch
        4. Creat steam.cfg in root steam folder, and add "Universe = store.steampowered.com/public/client/steam_client_linux"
        5. run LD_PRELOAD=./linux32/steamui.so ./steam.sh

        • ed@ed-desktop:~/steam$ LD_PRELOAD=./linux32/steamui.so ./steam.sh
/bin/bash: error while loading shared libraries: libsteam.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have made sure libsteam.so is in /linux32 directory.

That'd be illegal. Remember, this is not opensource-software.

            • You MUST have bspatch/bsdiff installed.

Download the run and install scripts here.

Once installed, copy run.sh into the steam folder and run it.

If you read SAteam EULA you must know - patching is illegal too.

I never agreed to any EULA for this Linux version of Steam. Besides, I'm pretty sure an EULA can't prohibit modifying the program when you do it for compatibility reasons.

License agreement placed in Steam folder after first updated, near steam.sh

hey guys! i got it to work by modifying RTLD_NOW to RTLD_LAZY in steamui.so with a hex editor, and currently there's only one game on the list, which is osmos,

                        • OMG Amazing!

We just need Valve now to give us the installer for the rest of us to do it!
