Phoronix: Yet More Signs Of Valve's Steam On Linux

Yesterday we reported on Proof In Steam's Mac Client Of Linux Support as we received the bash launcher used by the closed-beta Steam on Mac OS X that showed support for Linux. Today there are yet more signs of Linux support when studying Valve's Mac OS X client...

I'm skeptical of this info. It lists X360 as well, but I'm pretty sure Steam isn't coming to the Xbox.

The bash script is more believable however.

    Also:
More information (perhaps the best yet) is coming soon.
How soon is soon? And couldn't you have clumped the two together later?

      Steam - Linux client binaries?

By looking in the file at http://store.steampowered.com/public...m_client_linux I managed to change the url and download 4 interesting files.

I have not been able to verify the content of the files yet, but will look into it as soon as I get home from work.

FFS not another article on Steam, if it's going to happen it's going to happen, can't you write an article based on facts from Valve rather than speculation

On a side node I doubt Steam games would work on a 2.4 kernel never mind a 2.2 kernel

2.2 and 2.4 only have drivers for VERY OLD HARDWARE that you CANNOT run SOURCE games on.

          Are you retarted

Thank you and keep up the good investigation work!
I'm full of hope for native valve games on Ubuntu.

I am a little skeptical but not going to be negative to the bitter to the end about this.

That's exactly what I thought. If it's pure speculation (and it is), it should be treated as that in the post.
