Phoronix: Linux 3.14-rc3 Should Have "All The Scary Stuff" Fixed

Linus Torvalds has released Linux 3.14-rc3, the latest development release of the "Shuffling Zombie Juror", and with this release "the scary stuff" should be resolved...

"Shuffling Zombie Juror"? I was hoping 3.14 would have been "Pi". Or "Half-Tau". But maybe that's for 3.14.15...

that the name doesn't actually show up anywhere, and nobody really

Besides, any self-respecting geek will know pi to twenty decimal

      it?

Literally the name only appears in I think two places.

        1) The git logs
        2) The make file / KConfig file has a place to set the major minor and patch version as well as the listed name

And I truly can't think of any where else in the entire freaking Kernel the name gets mentioned.

Rc3 probably won't work with nVidia cards below nv50 with nouveau. So be careful, bug is here.

Is Linus ever going to invent a codename that can be stated in conversation without confusing everyone?

No HDMI audio on Radeon 7660D (A10-5800K Trinity APU) with stable 3.14. Silly!
