Phoronix: Adaptive Tickless Kernel Still Being Adapted

While in development for nearly two years without merging, the adaptive tickless Linux kernel support is still being developed...

    Not merged yet

    Oh, it's not merged yet.

I remember seeing this years ago. I thought it was merged by now long ago.
I remember looking forward to this and being eager to see it.

I wonder, is it going to effect battery life or is it just a performance booster?

I believe there will be no performance boost at all.
Though, I do believe there will be savings on the battery.

Oh really? I guess Weisbecker assumed wrong then?
According to the original article it sounded like it could be both an increase in battery and performance throughput:

Well, he probably knows more and better than me.
So he probably is right, and I am probably wrong.

I haven't read about the tickless kernel in years.
