Phoronix: Thank God, Fedora 14 Is Not Fytnargin

Following a period of Fedora contributors proposing codenames for the release of Red Hat's next community operating system, Fedora 14, voting commenced. Fortunately, the name that's been decided upon is not Fytnargin...

      Hi,

Fedora uses a community oriented process for suggesting and electing codenames and anyone can participate in it. God does not come into the picture :-)

Why is Laughlin better than Fytnargin? Neither one makes sense to me.

You can find explanation of the names as well as the corelation to the previous name in that page.

I don't think either of those meet Fedora's FOSS licence requirements, so don't bother.

Yeah, after all, Red Hat is big into cloud computing.

I doubt that. He's supposed to be omnipotent and as such would probably install his own custom linux distro by uncompressing tarballs and compiling everything manually.

Funny, I always expected God to be intelligent.

God (Linus Torvalds) actually does use Fedora.
