Good joke. Linux is known to be much faster in server performance while BSD sucks. That's the reason BSD server market share is even lower than Windows in this market.

Where do such bullshit come from? It is a known fact it has much lower server market share and this is because Linux has wiped it out from this market. Linux is known of being the best as a server.

I suppose bsd fanboys write about servers, because it's an only place bsd market share is little higher than 0,0%. However, if it's 5% it doesn't mean it's the best choice. What logic is this? I just checked: it doesn't even have 5%.

          Hello Pawlerson!

I'm afraid that evaluating the share of operating systems in the server sphere is not simple. So no one here has any legs to stand on for making definitive statements. But if you'll look at the web, you'll notice BSD does evidently have a big share - NetFlix's streaming servers for one.

As for 'Linux is faster in server performance' - [citation needed].

I don't know which Windows apps are you talking about, or what kind of machine are you running the on. Maybe they are simple apps. Compare the native PS3 store to the new HTML based one and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Following that logic you should not be a fan oof Linux on the desktop, since Windows clearly has a much larger marketshare and therefore must be the best desktop OS. So please change to Windows, troll their forums and leave Phoronix alone.

Please look at http://searchdns.netcraft.com/?host=netflix&x=0&y=0. There is no sign of filthy BSD anywhere.

Look at phoronix benchmarks, boot up any BSD on a i7 4GB workstation and Linux on a intel atom 1GB netbook. You'll see the difference, very a big difference flavoring Linux.

Yes the BSD Loser/Lunatic fayboy/Troll/Terrorist/Linux Hater is back. Do you know how great phoronix was wthout you?

Completely flawed logic. Windows is a special case because of vendor lock in. If it weren't for vendor lock in, windows' popularly will only be just 3 times higher then BSD.

No, since you are such a mindless BSD fanboy, YOU should leave phoronix and go troll your ass off at daemonforums.com, forums.freebsd.com or pedoplanet.com. Please, do everyone a favor.

I like it when people laugh at the thought of BSD being a good server, when html serving is perhaps it's biggest strength and is often faster than Linux in that regard.

Here's a bunch of benchmarks with some BSDs and Linux. The one that BSD beats the pants off Linux is with the Apache static page serving.

Edit: Keep in mind it was 1 year ago, and it was one benchmark out of many, so don't get your knickers in a twist. (I'm looking at you Pawlerson and endman)

Please don't feed the troll. It is a known fact that endman is only a sockpuppet account of the anti-BSD troll, which in turn is known for deliberately lying about anything BSD and trying to increase traffic for his pathetic blog.
Just put him (and any known and future sockpuppet accounts) on your ignore list, it is a known fact that troll will just leave if nobody feeds them.

You may very well be right, but it would be nice to see some information that is less than 15 years old.
