wow, that's gorgeous! But I maintain that it won't be easily scaleable created as a bitmap.

You should try inkscape if you don't have access to illustrator or similar programs. It would be pretty easy to do similar effects in inkscape.

Changed the banner a bit (reflection for text was added ):

(Looks better if you right-click and say view image)

                PTS on a chip

I got a little creative and got an idea about something on a CPU, and this is what I came up with:

                http://picasaweb.google.com/andjons/...14482095930034

I tried to follow the Tango projects guidelines and it's made in Inkscape (SVG availiable). Sorry I've only had time to make this one.

                  Edit: That is creative!

Meanwhile here is a pair of websites that someone pointed out on the gimp forums, to get inspiration from:

Sorry, couldn't see it either just now, but then it came back. Changed the link anyway and cross my fingers...

Thanks, but the .psd would still be a valid entry if you can't get the same result in inkscape reproduced

                          *cough*PSD isn't scalable.*cough*
*runs away to inkscape land, where lines are perfectly scalable *

I get the point now that a psd is a bitmap and not a vectorized image, thank you. I knew that before too!

However I've seen quite a lot more work gone in gimp/photoshop, hence why it's quite acceptable. Manually scaling the image isn't that hard to me as I have experience with both programs.

Since everyone seems to like versions with bgs and the darkest tango gray doesn't look good on the forums background, I have both versions

                              Without BG:
