Phoronix: Features For Phoronix Test Suite 1.2

We're in the middle of the development cycle right now for Phoronix Test Suite 1.2 "Malvik", but we expect to wrap up this first major post-1.0 release in September. Phoronix Test Suite 1.2 -- which is licensed under the GNU GPLv3 -- will ship with full support for a module/plug-in architecture, advanced analytical features, enhanced hardware/software detection support, and support for other UNIX operating systems. In this article we will be sharing some of the features for this new release, which has been codenamed Malvik.

Upon installing, this program downloads a lot of files. Can we get an ETA while downloading, a progressbar for the whole installation, and a note somewhere that says "this will take up 16GB of harddrive space"? (or whatever the amount is)

    Thanks.

A GUI at some point would be nice for the Linux-CLI-impaired, too. Would really help make this more accessible for many users especially those new to Linux and who are used to Windows.

Slapping together one would be easy and there are several IDEs out there to do so. Probably GTK-based I assume, though it'd be nice if there was a DE-independent solution that gave a natural look for both KDE and Gnome users...but that's another topic I guess.
