I'd rather take the Treat over them giving us the Trick.

It would be very nice if I could see stable performance on my R500 and R400 test parts. It might even restore my faith in 'em.

yeah, can't wait to have my brand new hd2600 sporting laptop do what my old desktop with a 5900xt does
(even smooth 2d would be welcome)
            so...is it gonna be October?
            then...

But I think DNF edition should be something like 8.78.
DNF can be argued to mean "Did Not Finish".

              • 8.42 - "Finally: The AI with jelly eggs edition"

We never understood why you wanted this, but here it is, anyway. The jelly is transparent, has some nice blur effects, and even wobbles if you move it. We still have to work a bit on the AI to keep it from randomly shuting down your computer, though.

What, you wanted a cube the size of your desktop? But you never told us about that!

                • 8.42 - Motion Sickness Edition

We today at ATI/AMD have decided to release the 8.42 driver which supports Compiz Fusion. There are however, some unexpected issues with our binary drivers and Compiz. Do not spend too much time with Compiz if you are vulnerable to motion sickness.

Our drivers will make you sick for hours. Its like riding a marry-go-round spinning at 100 mph for 20 minutes. We are working very hard to correct the issue, the fix should be introduced in 8.43.

Sorry for the inconvenience, oh wait, we use that alot don't we?

                  I guess we're just sorry.

P.S. If you install 8.42 irregardless, make sure you supply yourself with a empty bucket.

Heh... Apt name, considering the issues...

8.42 -- "What do you mean about "stable"? We finally gave you AIGLX? Just some people can't be made happy..."

ROFLMAO! The truth's painful all the same. And, worse yet, I'd get myself in trouble (as if I wasn't
already in hot water with DevRel at this point... ) if I named it what I really wanted to name it... >:-)
