Apart from the lack of compatibility with the proprietary GPU drivers of Nvidia/AMD, how usable is wayland by now really?
Assuming I have a desktop environment like E19 or Hawaii that runs fully native to wayland, how many problems should I expect to run into? How far is it really from being able to replace X on my system?
We have E19 working with Wayland, we also have Hawaii, KDE doesn't have all that far to go, GNOME is also well on it's way, environments supporting Wayland are becoming a reality in sight and seemingly in the near future. E19 being the biggest evidence of that. I'm itching to start using it, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what state it is currently in and when I can expect it to be usable. Is it far off?
