    Is this feasible? It seems as if it would enable a lot.

    that's probably why vmware bought tungstengraphics.

    But first G3D has to be implemented on real hardware and proven to work reliably. G3D will probably change a bit due to the experience gained from that.

    When G3D is proven and stable, work can be started on more exotic platforms. I'd expect vmware to be the first to support it, virtualbox maybe later.

    So.. feasible? Probably. In the near future? No.
