That is a lousy point to be default and point where people invented Wayland/DRI3/Present, while didn't have in mind things like FreeSync will happen... and now we probably need DRI4

I don't even think vblank should be default anywhere, but is done (beside for what it is for) more that way because not really proper power managment was there... so just to not heat things too much by default

Is there a chance DRI3 will be enabled by default with a newer enough server? It works fine on my good old rv530 + xorg 1.17.

Not sure if will happen with older hardware too, can you test? Well not sure if and which real world app will hit those lockups
