The bios on that board may not post vga cards other than the onboard one. You'd have to ask the oem. The radeon kms drm driver should be able to enable the card once it loads (assuming the card shows up on the pci bus ok). You won't get any video on boot up until the radeon driver loads however.

no the radeon do not show anything i checkt that! its ok for me to not get a bios post and later the os starts... but the system is just death... without any output.

the bios of this mainbord do have an vga for pci option i sett it to yes.. but noting work.

bios and later the loading linux/radeon do not show a video signal on hdmi/dvi/vga..

this is a bug.. someone should fix it.

Talk to your board vendor. The kernel relies on legacy vga until a device specific driver is loaded. There's not much we can do about that.

i think this board is to old to get a support like this :-(

Anything that requires loads of throughput tends to be slow on PCI cards and KMS. Fullscreen games and video are quite bad.

It was only relatively recently that r600g became usable for me on a PCI 4350. I was sticking to classic for that reason alone. I don't know which optimisation did it, but now KWin does not switch off compositing after a while.
