Do they have some kind of a bug tracker you could tell this on?
No, I don't. Concerning Torcs, I have patches that improve performance of r300g from 9 fps to 19 fps in one particular situation, and now the game runs somewhere between 15 and 120 fps, being mostly smooth and fun. A few of those patches are state tracker changes and should speed up r600g as well, but some additional changes must be made in r600g before the patches can be used.
If you start the game, how many fps do you have at the starting position in the track called Forza on r600g?
I'm thinking of installing a newer kernel to try out r600 too, with my radeon 5850. Before i do that i'd like to know if Compiz works moer or less fully with the newest version in xorg-edgers (I got Ubuntu 10.10)?
Not free software, but World of Warcraft cannot work with r600g until r600g starts supporting S3TC textures.
There are probably other reasons why WoW and r600g don't play together, but supporting S3TC OpenGL extensions is a quantifiable requirement.
I've gotten WoW to run, but it's not playable yet.
Setting it to OpenGL I can get it to run for a short period of time before wine crashes. It lasts longer on DirectX but there is a ton of visual corruption. I don't think it's caused by S3TC though...
